The undisclosed deal that was unveiled on Tuesday will cover players salary as well as kitting the team.
Club chairman Ambrose Rachier welcomed the new partnership terming it as a big boost to the record 15-times KPL champions who are eying to stamp their authority in the continental football through the CAF Champions League.
“For two and a half years we have been referred as the broke Gor Mahia in many quarters. But today, Gor Mahia FC one of the oldest and most successful club in Kenya is delighted to announce a landmark five year sponsorship deal with SportPesa.
“This is part of SportPesa’s commitment to football development in the country and a goal to help Kenya take part in the world cup. The deal will also see us recruit world class players,” Rachier who is vying for the Football Kenya Federation president’s seat announced.
K’Ogalo can now breath a sigh of relief after depending on gate collection to run the affairs of the club since losing its sponsorship in 2013 after Milk firm Tuzo declined to renew the package.

Meanwhile, their bitter rivals AFC leopards launched a three-year sponsorship deal with another betting firm Betway amid confusion after one of their chairmen sealed a deal with rival company SportPesa.
“It has taken us time to negotiate with Betway before we signed. It is not for selfish interest. We want to make Leopards self sustaining, Mathew’s Opwora, one of the co-chairmen stated.
However, the Sports Disputes Tribunal declared the deal as null and void after two factions signed separate contracts.
The two factions were in December 2015 directed to form an Interim Management Committee under the mediation of tribunal chairman John Ohaga, to end the wrangling that nearly brought the giant club on its knees.
“Neither of the deals signed were sanctioned by the tribunal. I discussed with the Interim Commettee about this development and we failed to reach an agreement. I have also discussed with the two sponsors who are categorical that they are in their rightful place and defend the deal.
“So the sponsors are ready to go to court to defend their stands but my stand remains that litigation will make this worse and I will be stating in court that as far as the tribunal is concerned, the contracts signed are null and void,”Ohaga announced.
