NYERI, Kenya, Nov 21 – Highly fancied Homabay and Busia County will play in the final of the Talanta Hela Under-19 tournament play-off in Nyeri after both sides easily swatted their opponents in the semis at the Moi Complex Primary School on Tuesday afternoon.
Joy Marvellous scored a hattrick with Lewinsky Akinyi adding two more as Homabay thrashed Uasin Gishu County 8-0.
“I am really delighted with how we played today, especially that we took our chances. In the previous matches we have have been wasting very many opportunities but today, we were better,” said Morris Omoya, the Homabay coach.
On playing Busia in the final, the coach said; “They are a very good team and it will be a tough game. They play very organized football and it is the best team I have seen here. I think it will be very closely contested.”

Homabay broke the deadlock after quarter an hour, Lewinsky’s header from a cross on the right being diverted into her own net by Uasin Gishu keeper Naomi Waithera.
She doubled her tally on the half hour mark with a well taken header from a cross on the right.
In the second half, the winger doubled her lead with a well taken goal before Uasin Gishu crumbled, allowing Joy to score thrice in eight minutes. She scored in the 51st, 56th and 59th minutes.
Tracy Musunai then scored an own goal on the hour mark as Homabay ran amok before Quinter Adhiambo scored the eighth in the 72nd minute, just minutes after she had missed a penalty.
Meanwhile, Busia skipper Lorna Wasike put in a brilliant performance, hitting a brace as they beat Machakos 3-0 in the other semi-final.

JoyAngela Valencia broke the deadlock in the 10th minute before Wasike added the second on the half hour mark, gliding past a defender and the keeper to tap into an empty net.
She then doubled her tally in the 76th minute, her brilliant curling freekick scorching the keeper’s palms before dropping into the net.
Coach Edwin Sakwa was delighted with the performance from his girls.
“We did really well and I am delighted. It was a bit difficult though because of the nature of the ground. We couldn’t pass around the ball well but all in all, we are through to the final,” said the coach.
He added; “We face a very tough Homabay side in the final but we will be ready for them. They are a good team.”
