GOR-MAHIA-UHURUNAIROBI, December 31 – Gor Mahia have re-signed midfielder Victor Ali Abondo from Tusker FC.

Abondo, who becomes the fifth signing for the 14-time Kenyan Premier League champions, has penned a two-year deal.

Confirming the development to Capital Sport, club deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala, revealed further they will have to pay Sh22, 600 (USD250) fine per player to continental governing body CAF since they will not have completed their transfer business by the December 31 squad submission deadline.

“We want to submit our final list to CAF by January 15 and that means we will have to pay the fine. We are yet to finalize on our transfer targets and that is why we will have the slight delay,” Ngala noted as the club braces to represent the nation at next season’s elite CAF Champions League.

K’Ogalo, who are set to finalize the capture of Tusker FC midfielder Khalid Aucho, have already acquired the services of Muhoroni Youth midfielder Ronald Omino, Taofiq Zachary, Dirkir Glay from Thika United, Martin Werunga and Tusker FC custodian Boniface Oluoch.

Gor who take on Madagascar’s CNAPS in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League have so far confirmed 18 players for the continental assignment.

Among notable omission from the squad are forwards Patrick Oboya, Ian Niva, Arthur Ssemazi, Angelo Okumu, midfielders Innocent Mutiso, Simon Mburu and defenders Charles Bruno, Kennedy Ayong.
